The Hazard Police Department is committed to making sure our community is safe, and has officers working closely with county, state, and federal agencies on programs dealing with such community and crime issues as drug abuse and identity fraud. The HPD has officers specially trained in a number of different law enforcement fields, including accident reconstruction, evidence collection, and drug investigation. The HPD has also dedicated itself to working closely with our local school systems by providing a D.A.R.E. officer and a School Resource Officer.
The Hazard Police Department maintains a close relationship with the local schools, allowing our youth and police officers to interact and build positive relationships between them.
